Summer Fama 2022

As the editor of the Flint Hill Classics Club, I am proud to present my first ever issue of Fama. When I went to NJCL in Louisiana over the summer, I realized how strong our JCL community is, which inspired me to create a summer Fama publication. I dedicated myself to the issue before school started hoping to inspire others to join me and the rest of the Virginia delegation to go to nationals. I worked diligently on the publication so that a physical copy would be available for students, teachers, and parents before back-to-school night. After the exacting work of spending all my nights at school until 7pm, I was finally able to finish printing and stapling over 2,400 pages together. With around 80 copies of Fama in my hand, I was able to distribute them to plenty of Latin and non-Latin students. When I saw peoples’ reactions to my publication, I felt as if I was the new Hercules. Everyone brightened up when they saw their names in the packet, laughed at inside jokes and memes, and reminisced their time at NJCL. I hope to bring everyone the same joy and happiness that my peers received to the rest of Virginia.
